Despite the no show’s it did turn out to be a wonderful day. How? Well…..
When I took Zen out for his morning run, a friend of my neighbor who was visiting, greeted me and wanted to purchase two books for her nephew and niece. I made a sale before leaving my driveway. This was a good sign.
Walking up to the bookstore, which is also a restaurant, I spied a friend sitting with two other ladies whom I did not know. We waved at each other and I went inside to say hello. My friend had purchased a book at prior event. After being introduced at the table, one of the ladies had read the book announced that she wanted to purchase two books and my friend said likewise. Did she come knowing I was having the signing and showed up? I suspect Yes. So, there was somebody who came.
It was nice to get the sales but the day got even better. With no one else showing up, the ladies joined my friend and me at the table where the book signing/reading was to take place. We were in a separate private room.
We spent the next two hours in deep conversation about Quantum Physics and explored the Universe in a lively conversation that has become a treasured memory. Laughter, camaraderie and connecting soul to soul are priceless gifts and I am so grateful for such an encounter.
The icing on the cake: I was able to get a payment toward my delinquent power bill. So there you go. I truly believe: What appears to be a negative can turn out to be a positive …and so it did for me, by spending such a delightful afternoon. Thank you everyone!
