I found myself this morning getting out of bed before dawn. That was unusual for me since I was up until 2 a m or so. However, with the weather changing from nice sunny days to a full-blown storm system arriving, I opted to get up and get my day started. It was a good decision.
I started breakfast but stopped and decided to take Zen outside for our morning routine. We got a bit wet with just a light rain shower. Upon returning, I glanced outside and noticed in just a matter of minutes that the weather had gone from slight rain to a downright nasty downpour with strong wind. Had we been on our regular schedule we would have gotten drenched.
With breakfast finished, I was talking to a friend. Gosh, guess one needs to clarify “how” you are talking these days with computer video, skype, and such. This conversation was on landline phone. LOL.
Anyway, I commented to her that I was curled up with a soft, warm blanket and a hot cup of coffee. How I was grateful to be so comfortable while looking outside at the incoming chaos.
After we finished our conversation, I remembered that: "darn I didn't fed the birds and Chip/Baby.” I proceeded to grab buckets of seed to fill the containers, as Zen took this opportunity to run out and go potty. He returned quite rapidly and headed directly inside. Once again we were soaked. I dried Zen and hung up my wet coat.
With the task finished, I really wanted to return to my refuge on the couch. I put the buckets away and noticed when I walked passed Zen’s crate. He was already cuddling up with HIS dry, warm blanket, falling fast asleep. Hmm, copycat indeed!
