I am heading down Hwy 101 deep in thought of what was next on the agenda. It was a very busy day spent mostly driving around doing book promotion, putting up the next reading/book signing flyers, etc.
I look over at Zen and he has his head stuck out the window with this look of total bliss, as his lips flop around in the wind. He is perched on the van seat as if he is riding a surf or boogie board.
My busy world stopped instantly, as I cracked up laughing at his sheer abandonment. It reminded me to stop and smell the roses or maybe ride with the wind in my hair. Since then, I have stuck my head out the window, and well, it just did not bring the same bliss for me. This is definitely Zen's thing in life.
Once again, Zen pulled me into his world of simple pleasures and awoke me to the fact of how I can be caught up in my “to do lists” that surely consumes every waking minute. Thank you Zen for showing me how to enjoy the simple things in life. However, I will nix any future “head out the window” pleasure for myself.
So get out there and ride the wave of fun!
