"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."
Zen will be four years old tomorrow, March 4th. Where did the time go since I brought home that eight-week old puppy?
What a joy and a challenge it has been having Zen in my life these past four years. He has given unconditional love and prompted me to get outside everyday for our walks, when I normally probably would opt not to.
I have recently spent some dark nights of the soul and I am still amazed of how he just knows when I am having growing pains. During these moments in time he will come over to me and offer solace by resting his head in my lap and looking at me with those soulful eyes as if to say, "Hey it's okay, I am here."
His antics over the years have brought so many smiles to my face and at times just letting go with roaring laughter outloud. He is the best!
Yesterday, I went to our local feed store to look again for a chewable toy that he cannot destroy… in like what, three minutes top? I do not choose those made of plastic or rubber that he might possibly ingest. Anybody have a suggestion?
Anyway, the clerk presented me with a chew toy that: “would really hold up”. And when I asked what it was made of? The answer: Braided Cow Penises. Huh? Are you serious? Unfortunately, yes. I don’t think so!
Zen will have to wait for now. LOL.
Blessings to you and your angel in fur, if you are blessed to live with one~
